Now and again I offer classes in my studio to share the love I have for my medium and for the absolute joy of being creative together. As much as you learn, I learn as well.
I work (play) primarily with epoxy (resin) in combination with many other mediums. I love being experimental and free flowing, and working with epoxy allows all that. It is somewhat unpredictable in its nature, which adds to the inherent attraction to the natural textures as well as the sheen level it creates. Whether you want to excel in this limitless new medium or if you are simply interested in meeting new people and letting your creative juices flow, this class is for you. Did I mention metallic foils?
Group classes are typically 4-6 people and take place in my large and sunny studio in Carleton Place. Private classes are also available on a one-on-one basis or if you have your own group or family members.

The epoxy takes anywhere from 3 to 24 hours to cure or to be ready for foiling. We need several days in order to create multiple layers of flowers and grasses, and to achieve a special depth of colour and texture
This is a fun experimental stage that includes acrylic underpainting, setting the tone and layout of the painting. We then work with epoxy and foils along with other medium to create dynamic, natural textures as a base
This stage takes place over several days, as each layer cures we add metallic foils, more colour, more flowers and grass
Tuesday May 14th, Thursday May 16th and Friday the 17th from 11-3 p.m.
Sunday May 19th, Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
We will work on a 24" x 36" gallery profile wood board. All materials included, $500+tx You just bring a lunch and comfy work clothes

I use holographic foils to create the base for the sky paintings. The depth you achieve is like no other medium. It's the closest thing to deep space that you can come to in the human world
You can work on a Northern Lights concept or you can create your own galaxy. Starting with the holographic foils, we'll add a sprinkle of stars, neon swirls of colour and a dusting of magic
Epoxy can be tinted to any depth of colour. When it's all mixed together, you can stand back and watch the amazing transformation as it blends in its own cosmic way
You will learn so many amazing things about the medium of epoxy: how to tint it, what products to use and where to get them as well as new artistic ways to use it in combination with traditional mediums such as acrylics, raw pigments and alcohol inks
Classes are small and take place in my studio/gallery in Carleton place. It's a wonderful, large and sunny space where we don't have to worry about making a mess! Check it out here:
